This month’s finish is called Strange Rasa Calce.This authentic Italian “Venetian” plaster finish is a mixture of two lime/marble plasters: Rasa Calce and Calcenova. Rasa Calce is an Old World type plaster used to create old looking walls. I also use this plaster when creating a breakaway plaster look like the Stucco Cadere Matone’ (check out my blog to read about that finish). Calcenova is a luminous plaster that is burnished to a lustrous shine. When combined they create a rich old world look that mimics aged stone. A wax is applied to age the plaster and protects it as well. This finish is perfect for the individual who wishes to have a distinct decorative finish that is the best of both worlds.
